Art Mashup

https://vimeo.com/324074043

The clips I chose for this week's assignment were specifically selected to depict a certain storyline. I wanted to glorify the ugly side of love. The mashup shifts back and forth between love scenes and violent scenes. Not to say that love is “violent” but more to depict that love is painful. Some of the clips also depict betrayal and denial of affection between lovers. At the end of the short film I have two men traveling on a marry-go-round, (without women) to show that love is a never ending cycle. My very last clip of the mashup was a woman afraid and trying to escape her surroundings. This shows that the woman is afraid of the ugly side of love but cannot escape it. While editing the clips I had to trim, cut, slow down, and speed them up in order to fit perfectly into the songs transitions. I believe I was successful my timing between love scenes and violent scenes could have been time a little better but I could drive myself crazy attempting to perfect the song and timing of the beat switch along with the scene transitions. If I could change one thing about my mashup it would be to have more scenes cut up shorter so I could have a better variety of clips. The most difficult part of this assignment was to figure out what direction I wanted to go with the mashup. I wanted the mashup to be corky but also make sense have a some type of story line. While doing this project I learned how to navigate both soundation and windows movie maker. I also developed a sense of storytelling. I tried multiple storylines and ultimately ended up sticking with my favorite one. This was easily my favorite assignment so far in the class. I will more than likely make another one just for fun with a different song.

Poster Collective On The Way

I’ve started editing pictures and creating graphics for a collection of posters and clothing I plan on selling. I’m starting off with only posters in hopes that my clientele increases. The idea of the collective is to sell urban style creations based on fashion, music, and film. The poster will features famous artists from this field with rare photos of them that you wouldn’t be able to find just on google. I found a lot of these photos on tumblr and other blog sources. I edited the original photos in order to avoid copyright issues when I decide to mass produce and sell. These are a few of the edits I’ve created to far for the collection.
For the first part of this week's assignment I created images using both Glass Giant and Text Imagine. I used pictures from two of the many animated TV shows I watched growing up. I used another imagine from Naruto again this week. I used a picture from the show Danny Phantom on the text imagine software. I liked how the pictures came out. I tried many different imagines for glass giant because a lot of the pictures I originally wanted to use did not come out how I would've liked them too. Both of these softwares were easy to use but I did not get much of sense of personal touch because it pretty much does all of the work for you. For the second part of this assignment I used a software called Word Art. I am pretty familiar with word art I used it a few times in both Jr. high and high school. I never really tapped too far into the website I just used the basic settings. On this project I uploaded a picture from one of my favorite movies ‘American Psycho’. While ...

Boondocks

https://vimeo.com/334053703 After doing the video mashup for class I decided to start making a few more mash ups. This is a mashup of fight scenes from Huey and Bushido Brown, characters from a show called Boondocks. The mashup is made to another song I created using a music software called Logic and Abelton.
